Our New Meeting Venue

From May 1, our monthly meeting venue is to be the Virginia Todd Community Centre, 9-15 Clarence Street, Geelong West 3218.

August 7 Visit

The staff at the Geelong Heritage Centre will be providing us with special access to their collection and a talk on their work.

September 4 Lecture

Andrew Caddy will be speaking about Customs and Border Force links with Geelong. He is an knowledgeable and engaging speaker.

A reminder to members and the general public that the August 7 meeting will be held at Kim barne thaliyuThe Geelong Heritage Centre. Please note the earlier start time of 7:15pm, please arrive earlier so we can make a prompt start to the evening.

The tour will include an overview of the research room and the services they offer, some background on the name Kim barne thaliyu, and a tour of the archive repository with information about significant collection items and public records. The tour will finish with a viewing of Geelong Historical Society collection items.

We need to meet earlier than usual, at least by 7:15pm on Wednesday August 7, to facilitate the tour. We ask you to meet at 51 Little Malop Street, Geelong VIC 3220 and to make your way by elevator to the centre.

LOOK AT THE SCREENSHOTS FOR THE TYPE OF EMAILS TO EXPECT

  1. Go to the Become a Member page and click on it
  2. Select REGISTER NOW
  3. Fill in your details and click the REGISTER button
  4. You will receive the first email … it will ask you click the VALIDATION link (to prove you are not a bot)
  5. You will immediately get the second email. It asks you to pay but ignore that request … you have already paid!
  6. As soon as I can, I will send you the third and final email. It has your password in it.
  7. You must use this password to log into the site. However once logged in you can change it … if you want to!
